2.5D stage plays are all the rage in Japan, and this time, it’s Kore Yamazaki’s The Ancient Magus’ Bride turn to get one. The series has inspired the new stage play, which will kick off in October later this year.

The staff have now also revealed the stage play’s two lead characters. Haruka Kudou will play Chise Hatori, while Naotaka Kamino will be playing Elias. They have yet to release images of the two actors in costume.

Aya Takaha, who worked as the scriptwriter for the TV anime, will be returning not just to write, but also direct the play herself.

Meanwhile, people who purchase the manga’s Volume 11 Tankoubon compilation release will have the first chance to purchase tickets for the play.It will run from 5-14 October 2019 at the Owlspot Theatre in Tokyo. Expect the staff to reveal more details soon enough.
