You might have seen the news around your social feeds wondering, is this real or just fanart? We’ve have ships turned to cute girls many times over, we’ve had blood cells into kids, we’ve had wild animals turned into girls but here’s the new hot thing: flags of countries turned into hot-ikemen guys! Behold: World Flags!

The aim of the people behind World Flags is to:
1. Get people excited for the 2020 Olympics using the popular Gijinka style
2. Teach them about the uniqueness of countries through their flags and culture
3. Using world flags and samurai as a way for people to appreciate Japanese culture

There’s only about 26 or so flags represented at the moment but, let’s take a look and what we have available shall we? We’ll begin with the G8 countries of Italy, France, Canada, America, Japan, Germany, England and Russia.

I personally really like the Germany and England flags the best amongst these. Germany has this really strong samurai feel to it, whereas England has this sophisticated aura around him. Which do you guys prefer?

And actually, surprising as it may be, Singapore is also represented in this lineup of 26! What do you think of him?

I like how they paid attention to the Singapore flag and using it as a base for this design, with the top red half and the bottom white half, just like our flag. The crescent and five star kanzashi in particular is really to my liking. Did I forget to mention the almost Sephiroth length Katana with the Merlion head?

There’s even more designs on the website so do check if out if you’re interested!

I like this idea of world flags turning into Samurai pretty boys. Seeing cosplays of this would also be really neat too! If they ever decide to animate this idea, I may know a guy who might be interested to voice the Singapore flag 😉
