Holo and Lawrence are back, though they will be starring in a new VR twist! There will be a new virtual reality anime based on Isuna Hasekura’s Spice and Wolf novels, and they just announced more details about it. According to the anime’s twitter page, they will be releasing this new VR anime on 3rd June 2019.

The post also confirmed that they will be releasing the anime for Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and Oculus Go Edition. Unfortunately, they did not specify that they will be releasing it for either the Oculus Quest or the PlayStation VR. Spicy Tails, the independent development circle responsible for the anime previously announced that it will be available for both the PS VR and Oculus Quest, but this new announcement did not mention the two other platforms. However, the anime will also be viewable via PC without a VR headset. Oh, and it will have English subtitles too!

The light novels’ own creator, Isuna Hasekura, is writing the anime’s new original scenario. They also revealed that Holo and Lawrence’s respective seiyuu, Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama, are both returning to reprise their roles.

The anime started off with crowdfunding campaigns on both Kickstarter and Campfire. The Campfire campaign met its 8 million yen goal in just two hours, while the kickstarter campaign got 70,485 goal in two days. When it ended, the crowdfunding project earned a combined total of 72,457,073 yen.
