Saying that fans aren’t happy with the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog’s design is a total understatement. In fact, after the release of the film’s first trailer, it generated so much internet hate that Paramount and Sega are redesigning him. In a tweet, director James Fowler says that they heard the fans and are working “fast” to do a redesign.

In that tweet, he says that “The message is loud and clear,” he said. “You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”

Unfortunately, he did not say when we should expect this redesign, but fans are seeing this change in a positive way.

Many commented on how creepy Sonic looked with HUMAN TEETH. Many were also unimpressed at how Jim Carey looked as Dr, Robotnik/Eggman in the trailer. However, while many said they disliked how he looked, they still have hopes for his portrayal of the classic video game antagonist. Many even said that him being in the movie was the only good thing shown in the trailer. Now if they also listen to the internet about having Ugandan Knuckles in the film as well…

The movie will premiere sometime in November for the United States and Australia. It will also hit Japan, though its release date there isn’t clear yet.
