I LOVE ANISONG Matsuri Malaysia will be happening on the 8th and 9th of June 2019 at Quill City Mall in Kuala Lumpur! In preparation for the event happening this weekend, we managed to snag an exclusive pre-interview with Luna Haruna you can check right here, right now!
It would be your 2nd time in Malaysia but it is your first time in KL. Thoughts?
Luna: Last year I had a live at Penang and it was such an enjoyable and exciting live I still remember it today! I’m excited for KL too. Last time the weather was too hot so I wasn’t able to do much sightseeing but it would be nice if I am able to do so this time.
Do you have any places you want to go in particular?
I want to visit the Petronas Twin Towers and do some shopping as well. I’d love to stroll around Quill City Mall too.
We have heard you go to Akihabara very often. I guess you must be a huge Anime fan. Which Anime are you currently interested in? And why?
I’m currently watching Inazuma Eleven: The Seal of Orion. My favorite player is doing his best right now!!! I’ven been following the Inazuma Eleven series since the original first season.
Not only do you like Anime but you have even challenged voice acting in Urahara. How was it like being in front of the mic doing recording?
I was really nervous!!
I’ve always loved Anime and been watching it as a fan, and I’m very honored to have been able to do voice recording with seiyuu in the studio.
I could feel the sense of unity amongst the cast and staff in making the product together and I really learnt a lot through this experience.
You recently celebrated 7 years of your debut as a major artiste. Congratulations! Looking back, what’s your favorite moment of those 7 years?
When I just debuted, seeing my CDs lining up at Animate left a huge impression. I’ve had many great moments in my 7 years but that is one moment I can never forget.
You released your first best album in November last year titled LUNA JOULE. Please tell us more about it.
This album has all the tie-up anisong throughout my career, as well as the most highly requested B-sides requested by my fans. I really enjoyed making this album. It’s very good practice before the live so please listen to it before coming!
Is there any song that stood out for you? And why?
Every song is wonderful so I can’t choose anything in particular. I’ve sang all sorts of genres throughout my career so I like the variety you can hear in this album.
By the way, what does the title LUNA JOULE mean?
Joule is a unit of energy. Also, my fans are called Luna-Jyu so when you read it, the words sounds the same.
It’s partially a meaning of thanks to the energy of the Luna-Jyu, and also wanted people to receive power through my songs. That is why I used this title.
On the album jacket, you can see bolts of lightning coming from my fingers. That is me at full-charge when the Luna-Jyu gives me energy, and it’s an image of me with all the energy and power ready to let out.
What is “So Japan” to you?
The quality of Anime and Games are high!
I feel that the Anime and Games of Japan have been reaching closer and closer to reality. With VR and cheer screenings of anime at theaters, it feels like the border between a series and real life starts to merge and anime basically becomes reality.
Please tell us what we can expect from your concert on the 8th June!
More so than anything, I will be singing lots of anisong!
I’m sure some people who came to Penang last year will be attending this time as well, and this time round I will be singing some new songs. I took some time to create the setlist! Let’s have fun together!

First time in Malaysia after a year! First live in Kuala Lumpur!
