The classic youkai anime, Humanoid Monster Bem, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new anime. And now, the staff has revealed a brand new trailer, which also reveals the anime’s OP and ED songs. “Uchuu no Kioku” will be the anime’s OP, and Maaya Sakamoto will be performing it. Meanwhile, JUNNA is performing the ED, “Iriumi”. The video also reveals that the anime will premiere on 8th July at 1:35 am.

This new anime’s title is just simply “BEM”, and it stars Katsuyuki Konishi as Bem, M.A.O as Bela, and Kensho Ono as Belo. Other cast members include Maaya Sakamoto as “Mysterious Lady”, Kenji Nomura as Joel Woods, and Maaya Uchida as Sonia Summers. LandQ Studios is animating this new series in collaboration with NAS and Production I.G. Yoshinori Odaka will be directing it, with Atsuhiro Tomioka adapting Range Murata’s original character designs.

The original anime ran from 1968 to 1969 and had 26 episodes. It follows a trio of youkai who fight for justice, hoping to become humans. Unfortunately, both their fellow youkai and the humans they protect shun them.
