During the TBS Panel presentation at Anime Expo 2019 in Los Angeles, California, they revealed that 8-bit will be doing a new idol anime.

The studio behind “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” is animating Auri Hirao’s Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu (If My Favorite Pop Idol Made it to the Budokan, I Would Die) manga.

It will premiere sometime in 2020 and will have 12 episodes.

The manga follows idol fangirl “Eripiyo,” who herself is a member of a struggling idol group known as Cham Jam. She is the minor idol group’s lowest ranking member, and also quite the fanatic when it comes to her favourite idol group, Mania. She’s so fanatical that she suffered a nosebleed while thinking about them during a performance. She is determined to continue her devotion for them until she can perform in Japan’s most prestigious venue for musical acts, the Budokan!

Not much is known about the aime adaptation yet, except for the 2020 release and studio of course. However, do expect 8bit or TBS to reveal more details soon enough.
