Kyoto Animation is moving forward with the upcoming side story film, Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll. This is despite having lost 35 people and millions of yen worth of files and equipment during last month’s horrific arson fire. However, they are remaining strong and defiant despite all of that. In fact, they just released a new story for that Violet Evergarden Gaiden:

The new video previews the theme song “Amy” by Minori Cihara. It also introduces us to two new characters in Isabella York and Taylor Barnett. Minako Kotobuki will be voicing Isabella, while Aoi Yuuki voices Taylor Barnett.

Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll will have a limited run between 6th September and 26th September, across 73 theatres. It was originally only scheduled for a 2-week run, but KyoAni decided to extend it following the arson fire.

They are also moving forward with their other Violet Evergarden project, which is Violet Evergarden the Movie. It will still move forward with its 10th January 2020 premiere next year as planned. And not even the fire caused by a mad arsonist is enough to make them falter.

As for the spin-off’s world premiere, it will happen between 3rd and 4th August, during the AnimagiC convention in Mannheim, Germany. And it seems that it was in fact KyoAni which requested the premiere to move forward. The organisers stated that the premiere is gonna happen  “at the express request of the studio.”
