Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii is getting a live-action movie starring Yamaken?! Yes it is! In fact, the film’s official Twitter page has revealed a brand new trailer, as well as its poster visual:

The live-action Death Note series’ Kento Yamazaki will be playing the gamer Hirotaka. Meanwhile, playing his fujoshi childhood friend Narumi is Napping Princess’s Mitsuki Takahata. The main cast will also feature Nanao as the fujoshi cosplayer, Hanako Koyonagi, as well as Takumi Saitou as the anime otaku and Hanako’s boyfriend, Tarou Kabakura.

Live-action Gintama’s Yuuichi Fukuda will be directing the film. It will open in Japan on 7 February 2020. The film will follow the lives of four otaku. Hirotaka, a gamer, is reunited with his childhood friend, Narumi, who is a gamer, when the office he works for hires her. Meanwhile, their officemates, Hanako and Kabakura, are secretly dating one another.
