The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics has plenty of cultural programmes, and one of them will be for anime, manga, and video game fans! This is because the International Otaku Expo Association (IOEA) has announced the “Otaku Summit 2020” event. It will be an official Tokyo 2020 Programme event in association with the Tokyo Olympics.

They describe it as “a place for international exchange through the Otaku culture, where people from around the world who love otaku culture and world event organizations can gather”. This event will happen from 27th-28th June 2020.

The Otaku Summit 2020 will include various exhibitions, conferences, and seminars. They will be held in Ikebukuro at Sunshine City and the Toshima Residents Center.
