The seiyuu unit known as Sphere is comprised of Minako Kotobuki, Ayahi Takagaki, Haruka Tomatsu, and Aki Toyosaki. And now, Tokyo MX has announced that these four seiyuu would be starring in a new TV series. However, it won’t be a TV anime, but a live-action TV series. Titled Gekidan Sphere (Sphere Theater Troupe), the new show will premiere via Tokyo MX on 16th October 2019.

This new show will be a collaboration between the seiyuu unit and five well known Japanese playwrights. This includes Ossans Love writer Kouji Tokuo. Each episode will have two halves, and each half will have a different director. A new episode will also premiere every two weeks.

These episodes will feature entirely fictional stories featuring the seiyuu as the leads. This is different to the last time they were part of a live-action show in 2011 titled Sphere Club. That show was more of a variety show, rather than a show with a completely fictional story.

Sphere is responsible for performing various anisongs, including Squid Girl, Hanasaku Iroha, Bakuman Season 3, and many many more. Individually, each seiyuu is also accomplished in their voice acting works as well. Aki Toyosaki is K-On!‘s Yui Hirasawa, Haruka Tomatsu is Sword Art Online‘s Asuna, Ayahi Takagaki is Gundam 00‘s Feldt Grace, and Minako Kotobuki is PreCure’s Cure Diamond.
