It looks like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba isn’t just getting a feature-length anime film, but also a 2.5D stage adaptation! This is because the 44th issue of Shonen Jump magazine has announced that Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga is getting a live-action stage adaptation!

Details are still scarce, but the announcement stated that the play will run sometime in January 2020. It will first hit Tokyo and then head to Hyougo Prefecture where it will also have a run.

The magazine also revealed that “Welcome to the Ballroom” anime writer Kenichi Suemitsu is not just writing the scripts, but also directing the play as well. Meanwhile, Shinsuke Wada will be composing the play’s music.

As for the film, it will be a direct sequel and will be adapting the manga’s Demon Train arc. Much of the TV anime’s staff and the cast would be returning for the film.
