Shin Chuuka Ichiban!, also known as Cooking Master Boy, is getting a brand new anime adaptation. And now, the anime’s staff have finally revealed more details for the series. First, here is the key visual:

The staff also revealed that Qaijff will perform the OP song, “b”, while Brian the Sun is performing the ED song, “Paradign Shift“. They also unveiled the anime’s cast, which includes:

  • Natsumi Fujiwara as Mao
  • Ai Kayano as Mei Li
  • Yukiyo Fujii as Zhi Lao
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Xi Er
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Li Wen
  • Junya Enoki as Fei
  • Yoshimitsu Shimomaya as Chouyu
  • Shinpachi Tsuji as Ruoh
  • Keiichi Nakagawa as Shouan
  • Yuuko Kaida as Shan

Finally, the staff revealed that the anime will air on TBS during 11th October. Other networks in Japan, including Mainichi Broadcasting System and BS-TBS will also be airing the anime as well.

The anime will be based on Etsushi Ogawa‘s classic cooking manga series, Shin Chuuka Ichiban. Set in 19th century China, it follows a boy named Mao who seeks to inherit his mother’s title of “Master Chef”. To do this, he travels around China to be a better cook.

Itsuro Kawasaki will be directing this new adaptation, with NAS producing the animation. Production I.G, which animated the original, will be working in cooperation with NAS for this new series.
