Director Takao Abo is back on a new TV anime. However, he’s not doing an isekai this time, but an idol anime! This is because he’s directing the new series, 22/7! They even revealed a new PV and key visual:

Macross Delta’s Majiro will be designing the characters, while The iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls‘s Chiaki Nagai will be working with Reiji Miyajima for series composition. The anime itself will premiere sometime in 2020, with A-1 Pictures producing the animation. The cast will include:

  • Sally Amaki as Sakura Fujima
  • Mizuha Kuraoka as Miyako Kouno
  • Chiharu Hokaze as Reika Satou
  • Ruri Umino as Jun Toda

22/7 is a Japanese idol girl group and anime series project between Yasushi Akimoto, Aniplex, and Sony Music Records. It follows the concept of “idols who cross dimensions” and Sony Music Records and Aniplex did a very extensive audition process. They received 10,325 applications for the idol group and held five rounds of auditions.
