Sakura Wars is back, and with a brand new video game! And now, Sega has released a new trailer for this very new game, which is titled Shin Sakura Taisen (Project Sakura Wars). It previews the game’s new story, which is set in Tokyo, 12 years after the events of Sakura Wars V.
The trailer also introduces the Berlin Combat Troupe, who have characters designed by none other than Humikane Shimada (Girls und Panzer, Strike Witches). Bleach mangaka Tite Kubo remains the game’s main character designer. It also teased Yasha’s “true identity”.
Meanwhile, the staff also released a new CM for the game, which previews the gameplay:
Ouji Hiroi is credited with the original work, while Kouhei Tanaka is returning to compose the music for the game. The game’s voice cast includes:

- Youhei Azakami as Seijūrou Kamiyama
- Maaya Uchida as Hatsuho Shinonome
- Saori Hayami as Clarissa Snowflake
- Hibiku Yamamura as Azami Mochizuki

- Nana Mizuki as Elise
- Rie Kugimiya as Margarete
- Chisa Yokoyama as Yasha
This game will be a completely new work which “inherits the DNA of the series”. Its setting is the fictionalised “Taisho” period in Tokyo, taking place five years after the events of Sakura Wars V. The game will follow protagonist Seijurou Kamiyama as he leads a “New Imperial Assault Force to fight against the re-emerging Kouma.
