Aya Hirano is one of the most recognised seiyuu outside of Japan. And now, she will be serving as an official ambassador for Cool Japan, the Japanese government’s cultural program that promotes Japanese pop culture. In fact, Aya tweeted the photos of her appointment as Cool Japan ambassador via Twitter:
She says she accepts the responsibility and will do her best to actively promote Japanese pop culture to other countries.
Aya Hirano is the voice of many popular and iconic anime characters. These include Fairy Tail’s Lucy Heartfilia, Lucky Star‘s Konata Izumi, and of course, Haruhi Suzumiya herself!
As for Cool Japan, it doesn’t just seek to promote anime and manga, but other facets of modern Japanese pop culture, from music to literature to fashion, and even live-action TV shows.
