Yuri!!! on Ice has gotten itself an animated feature film titled Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence. It was supposed to screen sometime this year, but it looks like that’s not gonna happen. This is because the anime’s official website has announced that the film will be delayed.

The anime’s English website stated:

“YURI!!! on ICE the movie : ICE ADOLESCENCE”, which was scheduled to be released this year, will now be postponed in order to substantially scale up the content more than originally planned. We apologize for the change in the release date to all those who are looking forward to this work.
The entire staff will strive to bring a fully mature film to fruition.
We will keep everyone posted as soon as the new release date is decided, so please bear with us, and thank you for your continued support.

Well, if they’re going to delay to make the movie better, then all the more reason to wait, right?

The film itself was first announced back in 2017, with MAPPA providing the animation production. Expect the staff to announce the new release window soon enough.
