Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is Production I.G.’s latest addition to the Ghost in the Shell franchise. And now, Netflix, which will be streaming the anime globally next year, has just dropped our first look at the new anime:

Netflix has revealed that they will begin streaming the series globally sometime in spring 2020. They also dropped a new key visual which shows off Russian illustrator Ilya Kushinov’s character design of Motoko Kusanagi:

Kuvshinov is an internationally-renowned Russian artist, and anime fans may know her as the one who designed the characters in Keiichi Hara’s April 2019 film Birthday Wonderland. She was always a big fan of Japanese animation, especially Ghost in the Shell which she first watched while he was only 6-years old.

Appleseed’s Shinji Aramaki and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’s Kenji Kamiyama will be co-directing the series over at Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts. It won’t have a movie format, but will instead be an anime series.
