While there is a life-size Unicorn Gundam standing in Odaiba, Tokyo, there will soon be a gigantic Evangelion statue standing in Nagoya. And they’re not just erecting one statue, but two! One will be six metres in height, while the other is just around three metres.

The 6m statue will be of the Evangelion Unit-01. TYhey will erect it right outside Sasashima-raibu station’s Global Gate. Sasashima-raibu has quite the resemblence to Evangelion’s setting, and is even a pilgrimage site for fans, though not as popular as Hakone.

Meanwhile, the shorter statue will stand at the Arrivals lobby of Chubu Centrair International Airport. The airport’s Centrair Hall will also be featuring an Evangelion exhibition, which will display several anime artworks, merchandise, and memorabilia. It will run from 12th February until 13th March 2020.

All this will also act as a promotion to the upcoming Shin Evangelion film, also known as Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0. It will premiere in Japan on June 2020 after much delays.
