The story of Princess Principal will continue with a new anime film sequel. And now, the staff announced that it is titled Princess Principal: Crown Handler, and also revealed a new key visual, as well as a new trailer:

The new trailer also nnounces that the film will open on 10th April 2020. It also gives a preview of Ange’s new seiyuu, Aoi Koga. She is replacing seiyuu Ayaka Imamura, who voiced the character for the TV anime. Imamura retired for health reasons, with Imamura’s agency, With line, holding auditions for her replacement for the role. There, they decided on Aoi Koga as the new Ange! The other cast members are reprising their roles from the TV anime though, and they include:

  • Akira Sekine as Princess
  • You Taichi as Dorothy
  • Akari Kageyama as Beatrice
  • Nozomi Furuki as Chise

Much of the staff are also returning, with Masaki Tachibana returning to direct the anime over at Actas, which looks like it’s taking over the animation production. Previously, 3Hz animated the TV series, and the studio wasn’t listed in the official website’s listing.

Here’s how Sentai Film Works describes the anime’s story:

At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen’s Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. Under the guise of regular high school girls, they act as spies under cover. Disguise, reconnaissance, infiltration, car chases… Each girl uses their own set of special skills to dart around the world of shadow.
