People often say that anime adaptations boost manga sales, and that still holds true, as the anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga proves it yet again.

Shueisha has now revealed their sales numbers, with One Piece unsurprisingly taking the #1 spot, selling 12.7 million volumes from 19 November 2018 to 17 November 2019. However, the #2 spot for their manga sales surprised many, as it’s none other than Kimetsu no Yaiba. The action-fantasy manga sold 10.8 million volumes on that same period.

Of course, Kimetsu no Yaiba gaining the second spot comes in the same year as the release of the TV anime. The adaptation inspired much public interest around the world, and it seems that the manga is still gaining more popularity.
