Remember Grand Blue? You know, that “Diving Manga” which was supposed to be about underwater adventures but ended up being more about its main characters getting drunk? Well, that uber-hilarious series is getting a live-action film adaptation. They even teased a still image via the official Twitter Page:

As the announcement revealed, the new film will premiere in Japan sometime in summer 2020. Unfortunately, they did not reveal any information on the actors playing the lovable college drunks just yet. However, they did announce that live-action Kakegurui’s Tsutomu Hanabusa is directing it.

Grand Blue is based on Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka’s college comedy manga titled Grand Blue Dreaming. Here’s how Kodansha describes the manga’s story:

After moving out on his own to a seaside town, Iori Kitahara makes a college debut he never anticipated. A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!
