Kyoto Animation’s Free! franchise has an all-new anime film coming up. They originally planned the film for summer 2020. However, it looks like KyoAni is delaying the film due to “various circumstances.”

The announcement stated that the director and the rest of the staff are now working hard so that the film will meet fan expectations. They also revealed the the anime’s official website will reveal the new release date at a later date.

The announcement comes as the studio is still recovering from last July’s horrific arson attack. The fire killed 36 people and injured many others. However, Kyoto Animation is remaining defiant and is still moving forward with many of their projects, even if they have to delay them.
