Cancer can be a very scary experience. It can end careers quickly, and can even derail all the momentum of an aspiring idol/seiyuu. This actually happened to former SKE48 Idol Miki Yakata who actually battledbreast cancer.

Yakata graduated from SKE48 back in 2017 to try and become a seiyuu. A year after retiring, doctors would then diagnose her with the disease, forcing her to seek treatment. And now, she’s talking about her own personal battle with cancer through a manga by Tomoko Fuyukawa (Mustard Chocolate) titled 27-sai no Nyugan Diary: Boku no Miki-chan ga Nyugan ni natta Hanashi.

During her treatment, she underwent double masectomu, chemotherapy, and of course, losing her own hair. And now, the manga takes a look at what she was going through her daily life through the perspective of one of her cats. Comic DAYS‘ official website has now started serialising the manga, and its first chapter is now available in the website for free.
