Some sad news for fans of old school anime, as legendary seiyuu Makio Inoue has now passed away. Inoue succumbed to a worsening of his chronic angina pectoris last 29th November. He was 81.

The seiyuu is also known for acting in live-action works. In anime, people best know him for voicing Captain harlock, as well as Ishikawa Goemon XIII in Lupin the Third. He’s the second seiyuu for Goemon before retiring from the role in 2011. Daisuke Namikawa currently voices the character for Lupin III THE FIRST. As for Harlock, he’s the first one to ever voice the role.

We here at So Japan send our condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
