The staff of the live-action film adaptation of Fujita’s Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku manga has revealed that the film will be having a very special guest appearance. That guest is none other than seiyuu Maaya Uchida, who will be playing herself in the film.

A character in the film is an idol otaku, and he is a big fan of her’s. Kento Kaku is playing that yet-to-be-named seiyuu otaku.

The live-action Death Note series’ Kento Yamazaki will be playing the gamer Hirotaka. Meanwhile, playing his fujoshi childhood friend Narumi is Napping Princess’s Mitsuki Takahata. The main cast will also feature Nanao as the fujoshi cosplayer, Hanako Koyonagi, as well as Takumi Saitou as the anime otaku and Hanako’s boyfriend, Tarou Kabakura.

Live-action Gintama’s Yuuichi Fukuda will be directing the film. It will open in Japan on 7 February 2020. The film will follow the lives of four otaku. Hirotaka, a gamer, is reunited with his childhood friend, Narumi, who is a gamer, when the office he works for hires her. Meanwhile, their officemates, Hanako and Kabakura, are secretly dating one another.
