The live-action Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku film has a cosplay musical number, befitting of a film about Japan’s otaku subculture. Now, the staff have released a brand new trailer for the film, and it takes a better look at that very performance. It features the song “Issai Gassai Save the World” by Evangelion and Shin Godzilla composer Shiro Sagisu. Aside from the new trailer, they also unveiled a new key visual as well.

The live-action Death Note series’ Kento Yamazaki will be playing the gamer Hirotaka. Meanwhile, playing his fujoshi childhood friend Narumi is Napping Princess’s Mitsuki Takahata. The main cast will also feature Nanao as the fujoshi cosplayer, Hanako Koyonagi, as well as Takumi Saitou as the anime otaku and Hanako’s boyfriend, Tarou Kabakura.

Live-action Gintama’s Yuuichi Fukuda will be directing the film. It will open in Japan on 7 February 2020. The film will follow the lives of four otaku. Hirotaka, a gamer, is reunited with his childhood friend, Narumi, who is a gamer, when the office he works for hires her. Meanwhile, their officemates, Hanako and Kabakura, are secretly dating one another.
