Ladies and gentlemen, the RX-78-2 Gundam’s life-size version is returning. But this time, it will finally be able to move! Bandai Namco Group recently had a presentation for their “Gundam Factory Yokohama” Project, which will be happening at the Yamashita Pier in Yokohama City. There, they revealed that the new life-size RX-78-2 Gundam that will be appearing will be able to move. This is a fullfillment of the goals they have set in 2014 as part of the Gundam Global Challenge 40th anniversary project.

This new life-sized attraction will include a full-scale mobile suit dock that will display the Gundam itself. It will also feature the “GUNDAM LAB,” which will explain the mechanisms that will make the Gundam move.

In addition, they will also feature the “Gundam Dock Tower” for visitors to get a better look at the Gundam. The Gundam Factory Yokohama will also feature the “GUNDAM Cafe YOKOHAMA Satellite” as well.

It will launch on 1st October, but will only be in Yokohama for about a year. Its final day of operation will be on 3rd October 2021. As for tickets, they will go on sale in July.

The life-size RX-78-2 Gundam previously stood in front of Diver City Tokyo in Odaiba. However, they would soon replace it with the life-size Unicorn Gundam.
