Via The Hollywood Reporter: Netflix has acquired worldwide streaming rights to Studio Ghibli’s entire film catalogue outside of North America (where the license is held by HBO Max) and the studio’s native Japan. The films will be rolled out over the course of three months, with subtitles in 28 languages and dubs in up to 20 languages.

Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki was quoted in an official statement: “In this day and age, there are various great ways a film can reach audiences. We’ve listened to our fans and have made the definitive decision to stream our film catalogue. We hope people around the world will discover the world of Studio Ghibli through this experience.”
