The New Sakura Wars game has finally hit the PlayStation 4 last December. And as expected, it’s also getting its very own TV anime adaptation! And now, the staff have released the anime’s first PV, as well as a new key visual:

The staff previously confirmed that the anime will be following the game’s story, and will also introduce the Moscow Assault Force. Sanjigen will be handling the animation production, with Sword Art Online Alicization’s Manabu Ono directing the series. Kohei Tanaka, who has worked on the franchise since 1996, will be working on the anime’s musical production as well. The cast from the game will be reprising their roles in the anime as well. The cast includes:

  • Ayane Sakura as Sakura Amamiya
  • Youhei Azakami as SeijÅ«rou Kamiyama
  • Maaya Uchida as Hatsuho Shinonome
  • Saori Hayami as Clarissa Snowflake
  • Hibiku Yamamura as Azami Mochizuki

As for the game, it’s titled Shin Sakura Taisen (Project Sakura Wars). Its new story is set in Tokyo, 12 years after the events of Sakura Wars V. It will follow protagonist Seijurou Kamiyama as he leads a “New Imperial Assault Force” to fight against the re-emerging Kouma. It is now available in Japan for the PlayStation 4. An international release will be coming soon, in spring 2020.
