Looks like it is officially the end of an era, as Nintendo Japan announces that they are halting repair service for the Wii. The historic console was known for being one of the most popular consoles of all time. It is also noted for sparking a fitness revolution in video games.

It seems that Nintendo has stopped producing parts for the console. This serves as the main reason as to why they are halting services for the Wii. While Nintendo stated that they will no longer repair the console, their support site will still offer troubleshooting steps for owners to still be able to try and fix their consoles themselves.

Nintendo launched the console in 2006, selling over 100 million copies worldwide. Fans loved the game system, as it featured many of Nintendo’s most popular franchises. And yes, it also made gamers burn tons of calories with the Wii Fit.
