If you haven’t heard by now, Korean film Parasite won the big one. And its win wasn’t just big for Korea, but for the Asian film industry in general. Lots of people are celebrating the win, and one of them is legendary mangaka Naoki Urusawa, who drew director Bong Joon-Ho, who also won the Oscar for Best Director, accept the award.

The mangaka congratulated Bong Joon Ho in both Japanese and English, and the message got many fans talking. It looks like a lot of them want the two to collaborate, and what a partnership that might turn out to be.

Parasite won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. It was the first foreign language film to win an Oscar for Best Picture, and the first Asian film at that. It also makes the case for subtitles a whole lot bigger out west…

As for Naoki Urusawa, the mangaka is best known for Yawara!, Master Keaton, 20th Century Boys, and Pluto.
