Kento Yamazaki is back with a new live-action role featuring a character from anime/manga. And this has been a proven formula, as his latest manga-based live-action film, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, opens at #1 over at the Japanese box office.

The film earned 229,400,150 yen with 169,000 tickets sold on 304 screens last weekend. It made its debut last Friday, 7th February.

Meanwhile, the film Inunaki Village took 2nd place, while AI Houkai took third place. Another notable film in the Top 10 is Gekijouban Kishiryuu Sentai Ryusoulger VS Lupinranger VS Patranger. The Super Sentai film took 5th place, earning 100,037,910 yen. Meanwhile, Kaiji Final Game took 8th place with 66,122,600 yen.
