Paul W.S. Anderson, who previously directed the live-action Resident Evil films, is now directing the new live-action Monster Hunter film… which will also star Milla Jovovich. And now, the film has revealed new posters, and the first one features Jovovich as Artemis, weilding a Greatsword… in one hand. Anderson has previously stated that all of Artemis’ costumes, weapons and equipment are based directly on the games

The second poster meanwhile features Thai star Tony Jaa as “The Hunter,” who seems to be a Gunner now that he’s featured equipped with a bow…

In the film, Jaa is playing a character known as “The Hunter”. And as it seems, Jaa’s character is from the actual world of the Monster Hunter video games. Screen Gems has recently released new story details about the film as well:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.

They were filming in South Africa, which seems like a good setting to recreate Monster Hunter World’s Wildspire Wastes area.

As for the film itself, it has a movie budget of US$60 million. It will also star Ron Perlman, Diego Boneta. and T.I. Harris.
