The AnimeJapan cancellation has hit many anime hard, as several upcoming and ongoing anime have planned to make big announcements during the event. And it’s not just anime, but manga as well. In fact, Bleach mangaka Tite Kubo planned to announce his new work during the event. But thanks to COVID-19, that ain’t happening anymore.

The planned “Bleach 20th Anniversary Project & Tite Kubo New Work Presentation” stage presentation at AnimeJapan will still push through. However, it won’t take place at the Makuhari Messe, but as a livestreamed program. It will still happen on 21st march at 9:45 JST, as previously planned.

Seiyuu Masakazu Morita and Ryotaro Okiayu were supposed to attend the new manga announcement, alongside Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Hiroyuki Nakano. However, it’s unclear whether they will also be attending the livestream.

Whatever this new manga is, expect fans to be excited about it, as Kubo was once part of Jump’s “Big 3”. The other members was of course Naruto’s Masashi Kishimoto and One Piece’s Eiichiro Oda.
