The 2-part Rurouni Kenshin: The Final/The Beginning films will be delving more into Kenshin’s past. And now, we’re really getting a blast from his past, as the staff finally announces the actress playing Kenshin’s wife! Kasumi Arimura, who voiced Marnie in Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There, will be playing Tomoe Yukishiro, who was Kenshin’s wife.

Rurouni Kenshin “Saishuushou The Final” will premiere on 3rd July 2020. It will follow the Jinchuu arc where Kenshin faces off against the arms dealer, Enishi. Meanwhile, “The Beginning” will follow the story of how Kenshin got his cross-shaped scar. It will premiere on 7th August 2020.

The original cast will be reprising their roles, including Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, Taketo Tanaka as Yahiko Myoujin, and Yuu Aoi as Megumi Takani. Yosuke Eguchi will also return as Hajime Saitou, while Mackenyu is joining the cast as antagonist Anishi Yukishiro.
