TBS has announced that they are now producing a new Rurouni Kenshin stage play. The Takarazuka Play’s writer, Shuuichirou Koike, will be returning to write the script. It will star Teppei Koike as Kenshin Himura, and they recently revealed him in costume:

The play will happen in Tokyo, at the IHI Stage sometime in autumn 2020. Shuuichirou Koike also told that it will indeed adapt the Kyoto Arc, which many fans have been requesting. In addition, he also teased that Makoto Shishio and Aoshi Shinomori are appearing in the play.

The world-famous Takarazuka Revue previously adapted Nobuhiro Watsuki’s manga in 2015. It also received a stage play in 2018 as well. This 2020 play will be the latest to adapt the popular manga into a stage production.
