Bandai Namco held a huge livestream containing several huge anime announcements. As previously promised, this included new details on the second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. And during that livestream, we get new footage from the anime via a brand new PV:

The anime itself will premiere this October 2020, but it will be a split-cour season. The second part will premiere in April 2021, while the first part of the second season will run from October to December 2020.

But that’s not all they announced, because while fans are waiting for the second part of the second season, a slimy spin-off anime will also premiere! It will adapt Shiba’s spinoff manga The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime as a TV anime. It will run from January 2021 to March 2021, which means it’s right between the two parts of the second season.

Yuji Ikuhara will direct the new anime over at 8bit. Meanwhile, Risa Takai (Time Bokan: The Villains Strikes Back) and Atsushi Irie (Steamboy) are both serving as character designers. The livestream also revealed that much of the cast from the main series will also be returning. The anime will follow the everyday lives of Rimuru and the villagers under his retinue.
