After months of waiting, Netflix has announced that they’re releasing the Violet Evergarden side story film, Violet Evergarden I: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll. And now, NX has released a new announcement video:

According to Netflix, they will begin streaming the film starting 2nd April 2020. And since this is Netflix after all, expect the streaming to be a global affair as usual.

The anime film premiered in Japan last 6th September. And with it came its End Credits, which paid tribute to all those who passed away from the tragic Kyoto Animation arson fire last July. This was a fitting tribute, as many of the victims actually worked on the film prior to the fire.

The film itself was ultimately very successful in Japan. It even served as a symbol of KyoAni rising from the ashes of tragedy. The film was originally slated for a limited 2-week run, but support was so overwhelming that they extended its run. More theatres also screened the film than expected.
