The COVID-19 pandemic has been pretty bad for Japan. And now, it has even affected voice recording sessions for seiyuu. During Radio Nikkei’s “Chuuou Keiba Jikkyou Chuukei” program, seiyuu Midori Kato, who voices Sazae in the Sazae-san TV anime, confirmed that they have now halted dialogue recordings for the series indefinitely.

Kato also commented that she’s still doing fine. However, she did admit that she’s a bit anxious. She stated that if one of them gets infected, it might really be the “end” of Sazae-san.

Unfortunately, the anime won’t be getting any new recordings any time soon. For now, it seems that the classic and long-running series’s seiyuu will remain on stand by and try to take care of their health.
