The official website for “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld” has announced that the premiere of its final season will be delayed until July 2020 due to COVID-19. The second cour was scheduled to be aired in April 2020.

Due to the postponement, the following revised broadcasting schedule will commence in April:

– The special program for the 10th Anniversary of “Sword Art Online” will be broadcast on 11th April 2020 as previously scheduled.
 
– The special summary program scheduled to be broadcast on 18th April will be postponed to July 2020 together with the season finale.
 
– The 1st cour of “Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld” will be replayed instead.

The showrunners have apologised to the fans and hope for their understanding during this worldwide pandemic.
