A new theatrical feature-length anime titled “Kamiarizuki no Kodomo” (“Child of Kamiari Month”) has been announced and is slated for release in 2021.

“Kamiarizuki no Kodomo” will be directed by Takana Shirai on her directorial debut, with creative direction by Kazuya Sakamoto, storyboards by Tomomi Mochizuki, art direction by Takashi Sato, colour by Yukiko Kakita, principal photography by Junpei Takatsu, and sound direction by Yoshikazu Iwanami.

The story is set in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture — where gods are said to still walk the earth. The protagonist Kanna is a young girl who has lost her mother, as well as her passion for running, when she encounters the holy rabbit Shiro and the demon boy Yasha. The film will star Aju Makita as “Kanna”, Maaya Sakamoto as “Shiro”, and Miyu Irino as “Yasha”.
