Popular smartphone game “Monster Strike” and renowned animation studio MADHOUSE have launched a short anime collaboration project titled “Zetsubou Funsai Shoujo ∞ AMIDA” (roughly, “Despair Destroyer Girl ∞ AMIDA”), today 25th May 2020.

“Zetsubou Funsai Shoujo ∞ AMIDA” tells the story of Amida, a normal schoolgirl who gains the power to defeat monsters that feed off negative emotions from desperate people. The film is directed by Harashina Daiki of “Boogie Pop” fame, while the music is by the all-girl band “KANEYORI MASARU”.

“Zetsubou Funsai Shoujo ∞ AMIDA” marks the first time “Monster Strike” has collaborated with an animation studio, and MADHOUSE is an excellent choice as the studio has released hits with Director Satoshi Kon (“Perfect Blue”, “Millennium Actress”, “Tokyo Godfathers”, and “Paprika”) and Director Mamoru Hosoda (“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”, “Summer Wars”, and “Wolf Children”).
