Via Comic Natalie: the 44th Kodansha Manga Awards have been announced the winners for 2020: Ken Wakui’s “Tokyo Revengers” in the Shounen category, Robico’s “Our Precious Conversations” in the Shoujo category, and Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s “Blue Period.” in the General category. All winners will receive JPY 1M in prize money.

“Tokyo Revengers” centres on the protagonist Takemichi’s revenge plan, which is complicated by his ability to time jump; a live-action film adaptation was announced in February 2020. “Our Precious Conversations” follows the story of high-schooler Nozomi Aizawa and the boy she has a crush on. Finally, “Blue Period.” is about Yatora Yaguchi who seems to be having the perfect high school life but is actually dealing with feelings of melancholy and disconnect, until one day when he finds himself fascinated by painting.

The 44th Kodansha Manga Awards Selection Committee consists of Ken Akamatsu, Tochi Ueyama, Oh! Great, Atsushi Kase, Akiko Higashimura, Yuji Moritaka and Waki ​​Yamato. The award ceremony this year will be skipped in favour of holding it next year together with the 20201 edition, due to measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
