“Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2020 in TOKYO DOME ～5th Anniversary～” has announced via their website that the event — initially scheduled for 10th August 2020 at Tokyo Dome, has been officially cancelled.

An unofficial translation of the official statement follows:

Thank you for your continued patronage of “Fate/Grand Order”.

Regarding “Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2020 in TOKYO DOME ~5th Anniversary~”, we were planning to hold it at Tokyo Dome on 10th August 2020 (Monday). But in the interest of preventing the spread of COVID-19 and in consideration of the health of all performers, staff, and audience members, we have decided to cancel the event.

Currently, the guidelines provided by the government state that even after August 2020, event venues are only allowed to host less than 50% of their original capacity. Since the event has sold over 90% of its tickets, and after discussing how to proceed with the event within the guidelines, but we have come to the conclusion that it is difficult to hold it while ensuring the safety of all.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the event, and we would appreciate your understanding.
