Via Comic Natalie: Studio Ghibli’s first 3DCG feature-length animation “Aya and the Witch” — out this winter on NHK, has just revealed new stills from the upcoming release. “Aya and the Witch” is based on British author Diana Wynne Jones’ novel “Earwig and the Witch”; Jones was also the original author of another adaptation by Studio Ghibli, “Howl’s Moving Castle”.

“Aya and the Witch” will be directed by Hayao Mizayaki’s son Goro Miyazaki, who also directed other Studio Ghibli films such as their adaptations of Ursula K. LeGuin’s “Tales from Earthsea”, as well as Tetsurou Sayama and Chizuru Takahashi’s “From Up On Poppy Hill”.
