Via Comic Natalie: The first two volumes of Yellow Tanabe’s “Kekkaishi” kanzen-ban or complete edition have been released 18th June 2020! The manga’s original run sold over 16 million copies, and won the 52nd Shogakukan Manga Award for shounen manga in 2007. To highlight the re-release, a special PV was created with Hiroyuki Yoshino — who played Yoshimori Sumimura in TV anime adaptation of “Kekkaishi”, as the narrator.

“Kekkaishi” follows the story of Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, who are “kekkaishi” or magical barrier masters, protecting the grounds of their school Karasumori. The school grounds have a special power of drawing “ayakashi” or supernatural creatures, and any ayakashi who manage to penetrate the barrier grow stronger — hence the importance of the role of the kekkaishi.
