Via Nijimen: The media mix project “WAVE!!” — envisioned to commemorate the entry of surfing as an Olympic sport at the Tokyo Olympics, will be releasing its first three chapters in various cinemas all over Japan. The film trilogy will be released on 2nd, 16th, and 30th October respectively.

“WAVE!!” is set in Ibaraki Prefecture’s Oarai Coast, famous for its surfing scene. It follows the story of Masaki Hinaoka, a local boy who encounters a prince-like transfer student who introduces him to surfing. He makes more friends who also share the same passion for riding the waves.

The project stars Tomoaki Maeno as Masaki Hinaoka, Hitoshi Ogasawara as Sho Akitsuki, Yoshiki Nakajima as Naru Tanaka, Takuya Sato as Kosuke Iwana, Yusuke Shirai as Yuta Matsukaze, Shunichi Toki as Naoya Kido, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Fuke Rindo, and Shotaro Morikubo as Soichiro William Mori.
