The film adaptation of Nahoko Uehashi’s “Shika no Ou” — originally scheduled to be released on 18th September, has been postponed to 2021 due to various reasons. The future release schedule will be announced on the Toho official website as soon as it is decided.

“Shika no Ou” will be the first work directed by Masashi Ando, who is the animation director of Studio Ghibli’s “Princess Mononoke” and “Spirited Away”, as well as Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name.” The film is co-directed by Masayuki Miyaji, written by Taku Kishimoto, and produced by Production IG of “Ghost in the Shell” fame.
