Via Comic Natalie: a new promotional video and key visual for “Higurashi: When They Cry” anime has been released ahead of its October 2020 broadcast date. The show was originally slated to start airing in July 2020, but was delayed due to measures recommended by the Japanese government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“Higurashi: When They Cry” is based on a horror-mystery visual novel of the same name. The story centres on Keiichi Maebara who moves to the village of Hinamizawa, where for four consecutive years locals have been killed on the evening of the local Watanagashi Festival — held to honour the deity Oyashiro.
